Hikaru Sushi Wine

Hikaru represents our new line of di Arie wines especially designed to be paired with sushi. These wines are carefully crafted to reflect the pureness of the fish, guided by the principles of balance, harmony and attention to detail.

Hikaru means “to shine” in Japanese. We created Hikaru to hold sushi in the limelight and enhance the pleasure of eating sushi. What sets Hikaru apart from traditional sushi pairings is its acidity which is complementary to the flavor profile of sushi.

We have three flavors: Sauvignon blanc, Sparkling Rose, and a chilled red blend.

Our Sauvignon Blanc is a dry, crisp, and clean wine with strutted acidity. It has a firm body and exceptional aromatic qualities of Fuji apple, pear, and tropical fruit. It's long finish is in perfect harmony with the umami flavors of sushi including tuna, yellowtail and salmon.

The Sparkling Rose sets forth with rich aromas of strawberry and orange zest. Complimenting notes of stone fruit, watermelon and yeasty nuances conjure an unusually intense umami character to this wine. The fruitful finish is fresh with subtle tasteful bubbles making this beverage exceptionally bright. An ideal companion to sushi, tempura, and robata.

Lastly, the chilled Red Blend is a soft body wine showing intense aromatic and fruity qualities even when chilled. These flavors are complemented with earthy and herbal aromas which pair very well with nigiri sushi including tuna, yellowtail and salmon.
